Your data crisis ends here.
Whether your hard drive just started clicking, your RAID array has failed, or you're facing a ransomware attack — you've found Britain's Data Hospital. We've spent 20 years recovering data that other companies say is lost forever.

What happens when you call
Free consultation
We'll talk through what happened and advise on immediate steps (like whether to power down your device to prevent further damage).
No-pressure assessment
Send or bring your media to our lab. We'll diagnose the problem and provide a clear quote before any chargeable work begins.
Direct engineer contact
You'll communicate with the technician actually working on your device, not a call centre.
See before you pay
Our File List Viewer lets you see exactly what we've recovered before you commit to the recovery fee.
Flexible return options

Frequently asked questions
Answers to common questions about contacting us, pricing, and what to expect.
How much does data recovery cost?
Every case is different, so we can't give a fixed price without assessing your device first. The good news: our initial assessment is free. We'll diagnose the problem and provide a clear quote before any chargeable work begins — no surprises, no hidden fees.
For many standard recoveries (single hard drives, USB drives, SD cards), we operate on a "no data, no fee" basis — you only pay if we successfully recover your data. More complex situations like RAID arrays or multi-drive servers are quoted based on the scale and complexity of the work involved. Call us on 0800 999 3282 and we'll give you an honest idea of what to expect.
How long does recovery take?
Standard service: 7-10 working days for most cases.
Emergency service: 12-72 hours for business-critical situations. We dedicate priority resources and work around the clock when needed.
The actual time depends on the type of failure, the device, and the amount of data involved. Some recoveries are completed same-day; others take longer due to physical damage or complexity. We'll give you a realistic timeline after our initial assessment.
Is my data secure with you?
Yes. We take data security seriously — it's fundamental to what we do.
R3 operates from Security House, a secure facility with 24/7 on-site security. We're registered with the ICO (Information Commissioner's Office) and comply with UK data protection regulations. We've been vetted by major cyber insurance providers including Hiscox, and we're trusted by NHS Trusts, financial institutions, and law enforcement agencies for sensitive recoveries.
Your data is handled under strict confidentiality throughout the process, and we can arrange secure deletion after your recovery is complete.
What types of devices can you recover data from?
We recover data from virtually any storage device:
- Hard drives — internal, external, desktop, laptop, enterprise
- Solid-state drives (SSDs) — all manufacturers and form factors
- RAID arrays and servers — all configurations including RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10
- USB flash drives and memory cards — SD, microSD, CF, and others
- Mobile phones and tablets — where physically possible
- Tape media — LTO, DLT, and legacy formats
- Virtual machines — VMware, Hyper-V, and other virtualisation platforms
If you're not sure whether we can help with your specific device, call us — we've probably seen it before.
Another company told me my data is unrecoverable. Can you still help?
Possibly, yes. "Unrecoverable" often means "too difficult for us" rather than "physically impossible."
We routinely recover data from drives that other companies have given up on. Our case files document 37+ drives that were declared unrecoverable elsewhere and successfully recovered in our lab. This includes drives that had already been opened by other providers, cases involving severe physical damage, and complex RAID failures that other labs walked away from.
If you've been told your data is gone, it's worth getting a second opinion. Send it to us — our assessment is free, and we'll give you an honest answer about what's actually possible.
Should I try to recover the data myself first?
In most cases, no. Here's why:
If your drive is making unusual noises (clicking, beeping, grinding), attempting to power it on — even once — can cause additional damage. What might be a straightforward recovery today could become genuinely unrecoverable after repeated power-on attempts.
If your drive has been dropped, exposed to water, fire, or physical damage, opening it outside a cleanroom environment will introduce contamination that makes recovery harder or impossible.
DIY recovery software can be useful for simple accidental deletions on a healthy drive. But if the drive has a physical problem, running software on it risks making things worse.
Our advice: If you suspect physical damage or your drive is behaving unusually, stop and call us before doing anything else. The call is free, and we can advise whether it's safe to attempt anything yourself or whether it needs professional attention.
