We received a hard drive which had been deemed unrecoverable by another data recovery provider, due to the scratches on the platter of the drive - the platter is the discs that spin inside the drives housing, this has a hard disk head and arm that runs over the platter and picks up the data on the disc - sometimes the arm can scratch the platter resulting in bad sectors or rendering the data corrupt. The Western Digital WDBABV0010BBK-00 was still a difficult recovery and did take an extended period to complete, but we managed to restore all the important data back to the client.
